Work schedule:                             Part-time 25 hours must be flexible between the hours of

12 pm – 7 pm


The Youth Outreach Specialist is responsible for implementing substance abuse education prevention and/or activities related to increasing academic performance for at-risk youth as well as alternative activities to meet outcomes and serve the organization’s mission



  • Increase the number of youth who avoid ATOD use
  • Increase the number of youth who perceive non-use as the norm
  • Increase the number of youth who avoid and delay the onset of first use



  • Enroll Latino children, youths, and/or adults in division programs
  • Implement services to meet the goals of the program and meet the needs of the community
  • Implement needs assessments, pre-tests and post-tests to effectively measure program outcomes, evaluate the success of programs, identify additional community needs and make referrals to community wide services
  • Obtain and maintain data for program evaluation process, productivity reporting, and/or referral services
  • Attend monthly staff meetings
  • Attend bi-weekly youth division meetings
  • Conduct outreach and presentations to create awareness, recruit, and promote Adelante’s programs and services
  • Plan lessons and activities for youth program
  • Facilitate and/or co-facilitate program educational sessions
  • Provide transportation for customers to program sessions and additional support services
  • Conduct home visits, as necessary
  • Communicate with the parents and school administration as needed with documentation of communication
  • Prepare and submit weekly reports, productivity reports, and all other required documentation
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor degree in education, social services, or related field or 30 college credits in education, social services, health or related field preferred
  • One year experience in social work, education, health or related field preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to communicate and work with at-risk youth and families
  • Must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional organizational, conflict resolution and leadership skills
  • Must posses a valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Ability to assist in program development and implementation
  • Bilingual skills, ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a must
